The Alternative Pathway Supported Dairy Internship Program offers students who have completed their HSC year exposure to practical dairy farm operation and business enterprise through work and participation in industry training and programs.
You will be provided full time employment as you participate in the following accredited training courses and industry experiences.
Year 1. National Farmers Federation (NFF) Ag Start Careers Gap year program.

- Wages paid $23.82 per hour Full Time.
- Participate fully in the training opportunities during the full year engagement.
Attend Australian Dairy Conference in February upon commencement of year 2. $2,500 for accommodation and conference costs. Not payable as monetary compensation to the individual if there is no attendance at the Conference. Must provide a report and diary of the conference for manager
Year 2. Rural Traineeship through TOCAL Certificate III
- Salary paid $75,000 – 38 hours per week plus reasonable overtime
- Attend Tocal Agriculture Colledge during course units
College costs covered to maximum of $3,000. These costs will be reimbursed on receipt from the intern.
Work performance and traineeship completion bonus available when a commitment has been made to year 3 of the program. $5,200 following evidence of completion of the certification
- Receive membership to NSW Farmers and Holstein Friesian Association Australia
- Work availability over Easter on farm or at Sydney show wherever needed. TBA

Bonus upon completion of certificate IV, attend World Dairy Expo Wisconsin USA and an Australian semen company pre-expo tour $5,000 for accommodation and conference costs. must provide a report and diary of the tour for manager
Other expectations of the student:
- Engagement with enthusiasm and respect for dairy industry
- 5 days work experience with our manufacturing, logistics and marketing team
- Attend all training block sessions
- Obtain a minimum of pass mark for all courses
- Maintain an acceptable standard of work performance
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Reliable car and driver's licence
