The Tomargo Recluse Holstein herd is recognised as one of Australia’s premier registered Holstein herds. It is a genetics- focused stud herd that is consistently producing cattle that have both commercial performance and show-ring appeal. The herd has been built on strong maternal lines, coupled with careful sire selection from the world’s leading Holstein bulls via artificial insemination technology.
Consistent success in the show ring
In recent years, our Tomargo Recluse have been awarded Most Successful Exhibitor banners at numerous Sydney Royal Easter Shows and have bred winners at Australia’s strongest dairy cattle competitions. Most recently, in January 2025, Tomargo Recluse Door Apricot was awarded Champion Senior Udder and Honourable
Mention Senior Champion Cow at Australia’s largest dairy cattle show, International Dairy Week. Born and bred right here at Little Big Dairy Co, we are so excited to see our special Apricot’s success.

For decades, Tomargo Recluse Holsteins has used leading Canadian and North American bloodlines as part of a considered breeding program.
Our selection is centred on functional dairy type, with corrective mating used to continually improve the herd. The goal is straightforward: productive, balanced cows with amazing udders, feet and legs - cows we love to see in the dairy and enjoy working with every day.
We believe well-bred, healthy cows are also the foundation of good milk production and the quality milk our herd produces.
Proven through classification
Our breeding program continues to be measured in the herd, with our recent Holstein Australia classification results recognising the type and quality of Tomargo Recluse cows.
These results reflect generations of selection for cows that combine dairy strength, functionality and the kind of Holstein type we value.
Cows and heifers for sale
We regularly have milkers, springers and heifers available for sale, offering other dairy farmers the opportunity to introduce Tomargo Recluse breeding into their own herds.
